Splat Experience
Splat Experience (SE) was established in late April 2002. In May 2003 George (from SE) decided to dedicate more time to his calling as a Pastor and Marc continued pursuing the Splat Experience ministry.
In June 2004 the ministry released a worship CD featuring many of the musical talents SE had joined forces with over the first few years of ministry including Ninety9Left, The Sonflowerz, Brian Timothy as well as several original compositions.
On October 16, 2005, SE headed back to the Woodside Bible Church to perform in 4 services. One of the services featured a performance of the ministry's Above All presentation - a portrait of Christ. This event was filmed and the video was posted on the church web site. This video soon became known as "The Woodside Video." This video was eventually uploaded to YouTube and we have been told it is the world's most popular Christian video on the video displaying web site - with over 3,000,000 hits!
Due to overwhelming response from this video the ministry released an official version of the Above All presentation on DVD in the spring of 2007, intended for home and church use. The Sacrifice was also released on DVD later that year in September.
Splat Experience became a full-time Christian performance art ministry on June 1, 2007.
Also as a result of the YouTube video, the ministry was invited to perform in over 80 cities across the US on Casting Crowns' "The Alter and the Door Tour" in the fall of 2007 and the spring of 2008.
A novel project titled "Leperd" has been completed and is set for release as an audio book in the fall of 2008. This fictional story written while on tour with Casting Crowns by Splat Experience performance artist, Marc Eckel (with Kondo Simfukwe) tells the story of the leper healed by Jesus in Luke 5:12-14. THe main focus of this project is to share the gospel.
A full 2-DVD project featuring a dozen painting presentations, the short film The Sinner, music videos, behind the scenes with Casting Crowns and many other extras is currently in development and scheduled for release in late 2008.
Splat Experience is currently performing around the world in churches, schools, conferences, conventions and music festivals - seeking to fulfill their call to encourage worship in the church and proclaim the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
